DTC’s popular taverns, coffee bars create a downtown-like allure
Twenty years ago, no one could have imagined how popular that downtown living would become——that people would pay for luxury homes walking distance from dining and entertainment, rather than from suburban attractions. Now, however, the same phenomenon seems to be recurring in a setting miles away.

“Morellos” ranch plan at One Cherry Lane in heart of the DTC.
“The new urban lifestyle has come full circle,” says Katharina Zoefelt, who counsels homebuyers at One Cherry Lane, a luxury single-family community by Esprit Homes in the heart of the Denver Tech Center, 11 freeway miles from the Denver urban core. “The attractions that once drew luxury buyers to the inner city are what they’re finding in the DTC now, but without any of the congestion that comes with real downtown living.”
Within a five-minute walk of her enclave, Zoefelt says, are no less than eight premium restaurants that offer a dining experience comparable to anything downtown. Most have arrived within the past ten years…two of them within the past few months.
Those are in addition to Starbucks and two other coffee bars…along with a dozen other venues that include breakfast places, bakeries, delis and specialty take-outs that have arrived in the same core area. On Tuesday nights, residents from Esprit’s enclave and from older areas around the DTC flock to hear summer jazz at DTC’s “Concerts at the Crescent.”
And then there’s DTC’s Light Rail station…with trains that are carrying unprecedented numbers of commuters to work in downtown, or to the Broncos, Avs, Rockies and other sports and cultural attractions…a ten-minute walk for Esprit’s homeowners.
“That creates a pretty compelling picture for the average buyer who’s relocating to a job along the I-25 corridor, or selling a house in Greenwood Village or Cherry Hills,” says Zoefelt.
“At One Cherry Lane, they can have the dining that you find in downtown, while enjoying the privacy and security that they have always liked about being in the suburbs.”
What they also like are the size and allure of Esprit’s luxurious, low-maintenance designs at One Cherry Lane, all of them protected behind a 24-hour-manned security gate. Home designs (there’s a lavishly appointed model home on view) range from 2,788 to 3,996 square feet——the size and opulence that purchasers appreciated about their older homes, matched to the newest features and most opulent finishes.
Meanwhile, residents are provided a landscaped front yard, along with access to One Cherry Lane’s pool/barbecue area. All designs are ranch or main-floor master plans, in stucco trimmed in lavish brick or masonry, appointed with premium Wolf® appliances and Irpinia® cabinets, slab granite counters, wine coolers, ten-foot fireplace surrounds, outdoor living spaces with built-in grills, with wrought iron and marble detailing.
And all are walking distance from Yia Yia’s, Cool River and other choice dining venues. Prices start from $1.25 million; take Belleview east from I-25 ½-mile to DTC Boulevard and turn south two blocks to Park Terrace Avenue, then right to the security gate; open 10-5 daily except Tuesday and Sunday, 11-5; or call or visit OneCherryLane.com or call 720-489-5503.
